Jeff Goldblum is proof that if you follow your dreams and spend the better part of your adult life looking at things inquisitively, you can get paid for simply being curious.
That’s what the working title of his upcoming Nat Geo series, The Curiosity of Jeff Goldblum suggests at least.
As Deadline originally reported, the 12-part docuseries from National Geographic will follow Goldblum as he trots across the globe and finds the backstories behind things that seem otherwise mundane.
Granted, who knows if this would have worked with anyone else because doesn’t it just seem like Goldblum was meant to rub his whiskers and ask questions across his dark-rimmed glasses?

Goldblum says that the series “puts me in the driver’s seat, guiding viewers on a mind-blowing adventure where we break down the unexpectedly complex science behind seemingly basic things.”
We’re talking subways, ice cream, toilet paper—you know: all the things that seem like it would make an awful documentary unless everyone’s favourite silver fox is the one driving the train. Jeff Goldblum is gonna teach me about clouds, so let’s see if I’m not a meteorologist by the end of the year.
The 30-minute series doesn’t have a premiere date yet, but it’s greenlit and ready to go following a presentation at a Television Critics Association event on Wednesday.
