After months of antagonizing fans with vague dates and long waits, HBO has finally provided details about when the final season of Game of Thrones will air.
The final six episodes of Game of Thrones will air in the first half of 2019, Entertainment Weekly reports. This would likely be in March or April, when most of the Game of Thrones seasons have aired.
Entertainment Weekly also confirms that the Game of Thrones prequel will not start shooting until early 2019, debunking rumours that production would begin in October.
“I don’t know where that report came from, we’re hoping to go into production in early ’19,” HBO’s programming president Casey Bloys said.
The last concrete news we had about a Game of Thrones Season 8 premiere date came last year when Bloys explained that these episodes would take much longer to produce, pushing the final season back a year.
