Jamie Lee Curtis is back. So too is John Carpenter

The new trailer for the latest Halloween flick has just dropped, and it is mega scary.

The endless succession of Hollywood reboots and sequels is tiresome, but it’s impossible not to be interested in the new Halloween flick.

40-years after the first film, John Carpenter – the man who directed, wrote and scored the originals – is back as a producer and composer. Also, Jamie Lee Curtis reprises her iconic role as Laurie Strode – who is now a shotgun-toting grandma.

Fortunately, the new film scraps the previous canon entirely. Instead, this is a direct sequel to the originals, and it’s probably all the better for it.

The new film is due out later this year.
