Salvador Dali made some interesting art, huh?
One of the most iconic figures in an industry full of larger-than-life characters, Salvador Dali was a surrealist who was eventually kicked out of the movement for being too surreal.
And if you want to know exactly what type of art is too crazy even for an art movement that prides itself on the ludicrous above all else, then you might want to head down to the Memories Exhibition, which is now open in DIFC.
The exhibition showcases lithographs, photographs and an original painting created by Dali, all in his timeless style. Each piece was sourced from private collections across the world, meaning you’re unlikely to have seen most of the works in museums before.
“My philosophy is that of a man who works and plats at the same time,” said Dali – speaking about his works – probably to a lobster. “A man who thinks and acts, and whose whole life is only the elaboration of his thoughts and whose main thought is constantly expressed by the game.”
Salvador Dali The Memories exhibition is held at the Conference Hall at Dubai International Financial Centre from 11th of February until the 22nd of April.
