Beckham launched the brand ambassadorship with a new film directed by Harmony Korine

David Beckham, the legendary British footballer and style icon, has been announced as the new global brand ambassador of Maserati.

Beckham, who launched his Major League Soccer team Inter Miami in 2020, made the announcement through a new ad directed by Harmony Korine, the maverick director behind the controversial films Kids, Gummo, and Spring Breakers, highlighting Beckham’s uncanny ability to avoid his myriad responsibilities and tightly packed schedule by doing donuts in a Miami parking lot with his new Maserati SUV, the Levante Trofeo.

“It’s an exciting time for me to begin this partnership with Maserati; an iconic Italian brand which shares my appreciation for the very best innovation and design. I’m looking forward to working closely with the brand at such a pivotal time in their history and continuing their growth on a global scale,” Beckham commented on the new partnership.

The feeling is mutual.

The brand is moving forward, inaugurated a new era. Maserati is driven to challenge the status quo being innovative by nature, powered by passion, and unique by design. The partnership with David is the embodiment of all these values,” added Paolo Tubito, Maserati Chief Marketing Officer.

The Korine-helmed short film is the ‘first act’ of the partnership between Beckham and Maserati, with much more to come, the brand has promised.

Maserati, an Italian luxury vehicle manufacturer with a 105 year heritage, has long been producing some of the most gorgeous cars in the market, especially popular in the Gulf region.

Here’s hoping the partnership brings Beckham over to the Middle East quite soon, as those donuts would look even better in the back streets of Dubai…
