Even Post Malone is getting into E-Sports
Post Malone just became co-owner of one of America’s biggest e-sport teams: Envy Gaming.
Founded in 2007, Envy is now one of the biggest names in e-sports (inside and outside the US).
The deal was done by Malone’s representatives at London Entertainment Group United Talent Agency and Electric Feel Entertainment. It so happens that Envy’s Call of Duty team is currently in the final of the league championships.
“I grew up in Texas and I’ve been gaming my whole life, so this just really felt right," noted Malone in a press release.
"I have always wanted to be a part of bringing gaming into the professional sports world so to be involved with what Envy is doing in my hometown feels like such a perfect fit."
Post Malone has become co-owner for an undisclosed equity stake. Envy Gaming is the parent company for the Dallas Fuel, Dallas Empire and Team Envy.
As his fans will know, Malone has always been an avid gamer. He runs his own Twitch channel which lets thousands of fans join him as he plays titles such as Fortnite and Call of Duty Warzone. He is also a brand ambassador for gaming accessories maker HyperX.
