The Batman star admitted he cried when playing the iconic RPG

Robert Pattinson; when not working hard to portray the new Batman, is busy playing the Final Fantasy remake and crying his eyes out.

While during press interviews for new Christopher Nolan time-travelling caper Tenet, Pattinson admitted that Final Fantasy got him all choked up.

“I think it was a lot of people’s favourite game, but Final Fantasy 7 is probably one of the only times I’ve cried in my life; when Aeris dies.”

Pattinson is of course referencing one of the biggest plot twists in video game history, after Final Fantasy maker Final Fantasy killed off one of the main protagonists of its game in the first half of the story.

Pattinson also joked that Aeris was his “first love”.

Don’t remember the scene? That’s because the Final Fantasy 7 remake that Square Enix released this year actually doesn’t include it yet. While the remake includes the first part of the FF7 storyline, it’s expected that this dramatic scene will be in the second installment, set to release next year.
