The video took place in Big Bear California, at Tyson’s Ranch

For the last few days a viral video purportedly showing Mike Tyson praying in Saudi Arabia – ahead of his scheduled fight next month – has been doing the rounds on the internet. Unfortunately, it’s not exactly true.

So the story goes, Mike Tyson is in Saudi Arabia prepping for his charity bout against Roy Jones Jr. Except he isn’t, because that match has been postponed until November.

Where did the video come from? According to boxing manager Amer Abdallah (who manages boxers Badou Jack and Viddal Riley), the video was filmed recently in Big Bear California, at Tyson Ranch.

You can actually see the logo of Tyson Ranch in the background, as well as the words ‘Tyson Ranch’ emblazoned on a fridge in the background of the video.

“In preparation for Badous fight November 28, we spent the weekend in Big Bear, California to get some light training in and break from Las Vegas for a bit,” Adballah said.

“When we first arrived, I asked Tyson where I could go to pray. He said, I’ll pray with you.”

The video was captured and shared online, which prompted speculation of where it took place. A few people on social media claimed that the video was filmed in Saudi Arabia and the rest is viral history.

Currently, Amer Abdalla and Badou Jack are prepping for their next fight on November 28, 2020.
