Coldplay started a trend; now John Legend and more are doing live public streaming shows

This week Coldplay’s Chris Martin live-streamed a mini concert while self-isolating from his home, and now many other musicians are scheduling shows of their own.

The show was meant to entertain those currently social distancing or in self-isolation, and Martin’s was one of the more creative ways to cope.

So yes, while you may be sitting home alone waiting for the coronavirus to settle – but that doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy some of your favourite artists.

Each bandmember was stuck in a different country on March 16, and so Chris Martin decided to play a little concert from his home piano. He even took requests from commentators, and did a David Bowie cover.

John Legend

John Legend just played his show a few hours ago, announcing that he was inspired by “My friend Chris Martin”. Of course, his wife Chrissy Teigen was there too.

Pink

Pink is trying to teach the world how to play Piano, and entertain her millions of fans at the same time. “Free concert slash piano lessons from my heart to yours. To make you feel my love rehearsals,” she wrote on Instagram.

The star will continue to host her sessions all this month:

The band’s lead singer Ben Gibbard wrote a letter to fans, saying “I know you are all really freaked out right now, I am too. And while I’m proud that we are all doing the necessary things at the moment to help flatten the curve, I know it has left us all incredibly isolated.”

To that end, he will be playing new music live from his studio every day:

Katherine McPhee and David Foster

“I’m gonna start covering songs live on insta, kind of like Kelly Clarkson without the tv show or budget. If you ever wanted me to sing your fav song-now’s your chance. Send me some suggestions,” said the singer songwriter.

She and husband David Foster will be taking to Instagram Life every evening:
