Reeves and Moss are all set to get plugged into the system once again

After a 17-year hiatus, the Matrix 4 was announced last year and given how Matrix Revolution ended, there has been a lot of speculation around the new upcoming movie and its plot line.

Now, it has already been confirmed that Keanu Reeves and Carrie-Anne Moss will return to get plugged into the Matrix, and the movie will also star Jonathan Groff, Jessica Henwick, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Priyanka Chopra Jonas and Neil Patrick Harris.

Warner Bros. and Village Roadshow earlier said that the cast has been in fight training for weeks, with production set to start in 2020.

It seems as though things have been moving pretty much as per schedule, as Reddit and Twitter are full of images and videos of the cast and crew filming in and around San Francisco’s Bay area.  There’s also been a call out for everyone who’d like to try their hand at being an exta in the movie as well.

A Reddit user was able to film Reeves on the back of Moss’ motorcycle going down Sansome Street, with their crew, cameras and director Lana Wachowski.

Here are all the videos of the cast and crew of Matrix 4 that have been spotted filming in San Francisco:

So what do we know about Matrix 4?

The new Matrix film is set to hit theatres on May 21, 2021.

Esquire previously reported that Lana Wachowski is on board to write and direct the fourth Matrix movie. She’s currently adapting concepts she developed with sister Lilly Wachowski for a new screenplay, collaborating with The Lazarus Project author Aleksandar Hemon, and writer David Mitchell, who she last worked with on Cloud Atlas.

Lana Wachowski told Variety in a statement that the sisters’ original shared vision for the franchise would be expanded. “Many of the ideals that Lilly and I explored 20 years ago about our reality are even more relevany now.”

“I am very happy to have these characters back in my life and grateful for another chance to work with my brilliant friends.”
