They say the two happiest days in a man’s life is the day when he buys his yacht and the day he sells his yacht. Although, if this were the yacht in question, you’d be hard-pressed to find a man who wants to flog it.
Created by Officina Armare, the Milan-based design firm has codenamed it Project Centauro. It’s a huge 360-foot megayacht of the future, with room enough for 14 passengers, and its own flying aircraft (yes, it will fit a boring old helicopter, but also a flying VTOL aircraft as seen in the photos).
The most striking feature is the hulking yacht’s size – which looks more like a battleship than a traditional white pleasure cruiser. And things are just as impressive onboard.
There are two ‘owners’ cabins, room for 12 guests and 38 crew. The Centauro was designed with space in mind (the owners’ suites have their very own private loft area), and also includes a movie theatre, fold-down sea terrace, spa, gym, indoor pool and a diving area.
You also get a Jacuzzi (natch), an observation deck and a beach club and tender garage that is big enough to hold two smaller boats, and a submarine.
And it’s no slouch in the water. Powered by two MTU engines, it can reach a top speed of 20 knots.
At the moment, the Centauro is just a concept. But one that’s begging for a buyer.
