Google will unveil Pixel 4 on October 15
Google has sent out invitations to its October 15 event dubbed, ‘Things Made by Google’. It is expected to officially unveil a new Pixel smartphone.
The event will happen in New York City, and will likely see Google challenge the new generation of Apple’s iPhone 11 and new iOS.
Both Google and Apple typically showcase new hardware ahead of the festive season, with Apple’s new phones going on sale on September 20.
Google is set to release its fourth version of its Pixel smartphone. Rumoured features include the ability to recognize faces and gestures, in greater attempts to merge software, hardware and online features.
It will also reveal more information about its online videogame streaming platform, Google Stadia.
The move comes after Apple last week announced Apple Arcade and new original content for AppleTV+, in a move that aims for new iPhone and iPad models as platforms for game and television services.
Google Pixel handsets have always been more technology-centric, and serve as the best demonstration of where Google thinks its Android operating system should be.
