Daniel Craig wears the perfect summer suit
There's No Time To Die for James Bond.
That's because he was busy catching the last few rays of sun, as Daniel Craig posed with co-star Lea Seydoux in the latest photocall release for Bond 25.
But there was enough time, it seems, to get summer suiting sorted for 2020. And though your life may be (and should be) far from a world of espionage and slaughtering hundreds of people en masse, there's no time like the present to look ahead either.
Pictured in Matera, a city in the southern region of Italy, the 51-year-old enlisted a look in-line with James Bond's usual rotation - but still not quite the stuff we're acquainted with, either. It was sharp, yes. It was classic too. But in a beige and white linen houndstooth suit complete with polka dot pocket square, Craig looked more to the Bond of yore as opposed to the gritty, troubled, not-really-getting-eight-hours-in man of recent years.
Which is a good thing. As Craig settles into the gear of Bond abroad, it's an easily-mimicked template for every guy that doesn't want to look like every other guy at the next summer wedding. And, despite the murmurs of left-fieldism, it's classic enough as to not impinge on the dress code.
It's a signature move from Italian outfit Brunello Cucinelli: a label that packs luxury tailoring with just the right amount of Pitti Uomo sprezzatura (the art of studied carelessness in one's outfit). That means fewer ruby red Panamas, more subtle features. So peak lapels, desert boots below, and of course, the aforementioned linen houndstooth.
And so, while you may be waiting on approval for a licence to kill from your line manager, chances are the invites have already landed for wedding season 2020.
Good thing Craig has you sorted, then.
