If Beyoncé can be in The Lion King, why can’t Nicki Minaj be in Batman?

The internet is really having some fun playing casting director: Peter Dinklage in a Twins remake, Gordon Ramsay in The Little Mermaid, and now Nicki Minaj in Batman.

Robert Pattinson, the man who made every teenage girl swoon in Twilight, is confirmed to be the next Batman. In Matt Reeves’ new movie ‘The Batman’, little is known about casting decisions apart from Mr Pattinson as the superhero billionaire (we mean Bruce Wayne, not Tony Stark).

One commenter on Minaj’s Instagram however has suggested the ‘Queen of Rap’ herself to don the PVC costume and play Catwoman in Reeves’ new movie. Minaj is no stranger to skin tight clothing, nor PVC, so perhaps it could work?

In a post celebrating her role in the ‘Angry Birds 2’ movie, acting as a voice actor, she responded to a comment suggesting her to be the next Catwoman. “I’m ready. Ha!” she said.

That little “Ha!” may be a bit disheartening if you really wanted Minaj to get on that motorcycle and scratch some baddies, though there’s a chance.

The role of Catwoman, much like Batman, is a titled shared and passed around between numerous people over the years. Most recently, Anne Hathaway rocked the Catwoman suit, playing a sensual and mysterious anti-hero to keep Batman on his toes. She was in ‘The Dark Knight Rises’, while none other than Michelle Pfeiffer made it into ‘Batman Returns’.

Minaj hasn’t done too much so far in terms of major acting roles, at the moment things like voice acting are her go to.

She certainly has the dance moves, but can she be as nimble as a Catwoman role demands?
