Veteran actor Tom Hardy competed in the REORG Open Jiu-Jitsu Championship tournament this past Saturday in Wolverhampton, England and walked away with two gold medals around his neck and won every match via submission.
Users on TikTok reacted in the comments by saying:
“Imagine signing up for a JiuJitsu competition and having to face Bane.”
The above user was referencing Hardy’s role in the Batman film, The Dark Knight Rises where he played the brutal villain Bane.
More recently, Hardy is known for playing the Marvel character Venom who constantly tells his character’s alter ego Eddie Brock what to do which prompted one user to comment:
“EDDIE WE DO JU JITSU NOW.”

Tom Hardy is a REORG trustee
The 44-year-old is a trustee in the charity organisation REORG who’s mission is to help people with life-altering physical injuries, as well as those suffering from PTSD and depression through the martial art of Brazilian jiu-jitsu.
“The difference that Brazilian jiu-jitsu can make is nothing short of incredible. Physically BJJ is brilliant because you can adapt it to your abilities, and you get a workout that puts every part of your body on red alert. And the accompanying psychological benefits are something everyone notices as soon as they start training.” said the organisation on its website.

“Whether you are diagnosed with PTSD, or simply suffering from a low mood or lack of purpose, when you spend a tough hour training, the volume on all your problems gets turned right down.”
Eddie, we meet fans now
After the tournament, Tom Hardy also met with a six-year-old boy who’s a huge fan of Venom.

Ollie and his mother Carla Frost were in Wolverhampton and heard that the Venom actor was competing in the local tournament and wanted to meet him.
“I received a message that he was in our town competing in a Jiu-jitsu tournament, drove down, walked in, asked for him and was told he had just left.” said Frost speaking to The Express and Star.
However, all was not lost as the staff member at REORG decided to double check where Hardy was.
“The next thing I know this lovely man is walking across the sports hall to us.”
Hardy then gives Ollie a big hug which made his year said his mother.
“He’s so kind and thoughtful. So surreal! My son has grown up hearing me talk about how talented and brilliant this man is.”
