Backtracking on previous guidelines, Qatar is announcing this Friday that only non alcoholic beverages will be available for sale during the World Cup games.
This ruling comes just two days before the tournament kicks off, so there is sure to be much discussion surrounding the decision.

Budweiser, long time sponsor of the tournament, will still be selling beverages as normal in other fan zones across Doha, however the stadiums will remain dry.
Additionally, while the bustling FIFA Fan Fest in Doha will also serve alcoholic beverages, normally alcoholic beverages are confined to hotels and restaurants, but an exception has been made to allow their sale in select fan zones.
Fans are urged to be respectful, in pursuit of this aim organizers are limiting the amount of drinks an individual can purchase at a time in these fan zones.
Nonetheless non alcoholic beers and other refreshments will be available at all games.
