While most UAE residents are avoiding going to the beach during summer’s scoring peak month, the good news is that when the temperature drops they’ll be welcomed by one of the most popular beaches in the world.
That’s right, Dubai’s famed JBR Beach has ranked as the tenth most popular beaches worldwide on Instagram, and sixth on the world’s most popular beach on TikTok, according to a study by Bounce.
Given the plethora of options available, selecting the perfect beach destination that offers picturesque settings for that coveted Instagram post or TikTok video can prove challenging. In response, Bounce has curated a list of the most adored beaches on social media for the year 2023.
The travel and luggage experts at Bounce compiled a list of the world’s most popular beaches according to social media, by analysing the number of Instagram posts and TikTok videos.
Top of the most popular beaches on Instagram list is Sydney’s Bondi Beach. With 1,896,226 Instagram posts over the past year the Australian paradise has almost 2 million hashtagged posts, all showing the beach’s clear waters, deep blue sky, and idyllic sandy shores.
In fact, Australia clocks in four of the list’s Top Ten spots with Manly Beach (543,520 IG posts), Airlie Beach (418,788) and Whitehaven (224,348) joining Bondi on the list.
With an impressive 197,365 Instagram posts, Dubai’s JBR Beach makes it into the list due to its combination of golden sand, skyscraper-filled skyline, and iconic structures such as the giant Ain Dubai wheel.
Whether opting for a local coastal retreat or venturing abroad to bask in the sun, sea, and sand, the influence of popular platforms like ‘TravelTok’ and Instagram cannot be ignored.
