Didn’t catch that last solar eclipse? Another astrological phenomenon is upon us so don’t forget to look up this time! This Tuesday, November 8th, Earth’s moon will enter into a total lunar eclipse, or what many refer to as a blood moon, because of the resulting red shade on the face of our moon.
The eclipse will begin in Dubai on Tuesday November 8th, at 5:33pm and will end at 5:56. The event will be at totality, the strongest point, at 5:36.
Stargazers on four continents will be able to enjoy the show, with the lunar spectacle being visible from Asia, North America, Australia, and parts of South America. This total lunar eclipse has added significance as it is the last we will see, according to NASA, until March 14 2025, so you’re not going to want to miss it unless you are incredibly patient.
A total lunar eclipse occurs when the moon, Earth, and sun are aligned and the moon passes into Earth’s shadow. The red colouring of the moon is a result of a sliver of light from Earth’s sunrises and sunsets creep out from the edge of the planet and hits the face of the moon. Because the light waves stretch, the colour appears red.

For those interested in trying to catch a peek, you don’t need to worry about eye safety like with a solar event. The lunar event is surely going to be a special one, so we recommend gathering some friends and family and take in the view.
