After BeIN’s massive collection of TV channels were removed from Etisalat’s eLife TV starting today, viewers across the UAE have been full of questions: What exactly happened?

While Etisalat released their statement overnight, we’ve gotten some insights from beIN’s side that add some insight into how the breakdown happened.

According to the Qatar TV giant, this was not a spur of the moment decision. The deadline was known, and both sides worked around the clock to get a deal done in time, but unfortunately, a deal couldn’t be reached by the time the clock ran out.

“After lengthy discussions where beIN has tirelessly sought to extend our decade-long partnership with Etisalat, we are disappointed not to be able to renew this relationship at this time. This means beIN’s amazing content will not be available on eLife TV,” a spokesperson from beIN tells Esquire Middle East.

How to keep watching beIN via Etisalat

The company also shared the fact that there are still many ways to continue watching in the UAE, and you can even stream it via your Etisalat internet if necessary, via Tod.
