There’s a moment every long-stay traveller knows only too well. You’ve unpacked your suitcase, plugged in too many adaptors and stared at a room that’s meant to hold your life for the next month. The thrill of a new city fades, and suddenly you’re wondering where people here actually buy their bin bags. It’s an oddly existential crossroads, with the promise of adventure on one side and mild panic on the other.
The Other House South Kensington seems built entirely for that moment. It’s a Residents’ Club, with a “your other house for as long as you’re in town” concept that blends the comfort of apartment-style living with boutique-hotel polish and the community feel of a private members’ club.

A big part of that comfort comes from its Club Flats, each one a compact apartment with a kitchenette, sitting room, bedroom and proper shower room. Interiors follow a British maximalist aesthetic inspired by CEO and Founder Naomi Heaton’s own home — books everywhere, layered textiles and that cosy lived-in quality that most hotels can never quite manage to replicate. They work just as well for long-staying professionals as for groups or families who want something between a hotel room and a full-scale rental.
Still, settling in takes more than a well-decorated space. Recognising this, The Other House launched its Tap into Home package — a four-week wellbeing experience designed to ease homesickness for anyone staying a month or longer. The property isn’t pretending it can magically recreate your mum’s kitchen, but it’s trying to give you enough grounding that you don’t spend your first week Googling flights home after facing London’s sheer scale.

Mamma Wellbeing, the Wellness Concierge on hand, anchors the programme through guided hypnotherapy and Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) sessions, both aimed at reducing stress, reframing anxious thoughts and helping residents build resilience. It unfolds in weekly stages: easing in with hypnotherapy and a House Connect evening; unwinding with pilates, a follow-up session and access to the vitality pool; exploring more of the city through curated cultural outings and community events; and finally, a check-in to cement the habits and coping mechanisms developed along the way. The complete package comes in at £1,000, tailored to each guest rather than a one-size-fits-all regime.

The rest of the House feels equally lived-in. The Other Kitchen keeps things lively at breakfast and brunch; the Owl & Monkey cocktail bar is there for the nights when you need something stirred or shaken. The private club downstairs adds lounges for relaxing or working, and the 24/7 gym and vitality pool sit next to an expanding wellbeing programme. December in particular brings Body Brilliant’s IV Infusions — science-led treatments designed to revive anyone flagging during the festive stretch.
The location also does half the work. South Kensington is one of London’s most walkable cultural hubs, and future sites in Covent Garden and Belgravia will widen the brand’s footprint. For long stays, rates start at £950 per week (£4,200 per month), which includes cleaning, laundry, access to the members’ club and its events. Short stays begin at £250 per night.

London can be overwhelming, especially when you arrive alone. The Other House South Kensington understands the strange cocktail of excitement and disorientation that comes with being new in town. It doesn’t try to mimic your old home; instead, it hands you the tools, the community and the space to build a new one — one day, one pilates class, and one late-night cocktail at a time.
