You can tell a lot about someone by the whisky they keep on their shelf. And a bottle of The Macallan has long been the name that says you know what you’re doing.

Now, it’s saying it a little louder – just with a more refined design.

The Macallan has reimagined its Timeless Collections – Double Cask, Sherry Oak, and Colour Collection – with a bold new visual identity created by American graphic designer David Carson. If you know design, you know Carson doesn’t do ordinary. He’s taken everything The Macallan stands for – heritage, craftsmanship, time – and given it a new form.

Design and storytelling run side by side here. The bottle’s curves nod to the Speyside distillery’s green roof, while the triangular shoulder label points to Spain’s Sherry Triangle, home to the sherry-seasoned oak casks that give The Macallan its character. Every detail connects the whisky’s Scottish origin to the Andalusian vineyards where its story begins.

The redesign feels like a natural progression for The Macallan – a brand that knows how to evolve without losing its sense of self. The Double Cask Collection remains smooth and creamy, shaped by both American and European oak with notes of baked fruit, toffee, and gentle spice. Seasoned with sherry wine in their bodegas in Jerez de la Frontera, the Double Cask Collection is an homage to The Macallan’s exceptional sherry seasoned oak casks and the extraordinary story of their creation: a journey that takes more than a hundred years and spans thousands of miles, from the forests of two continents to our vineyards in southern Spain.

The Sherry Oak Collection takes on a deeper, more indulgent tone with mahogany hues and touches of dried fruit and ginger. The Colour Collection, on the other hand, brings brightness – a golden blend of citrus and vanilla that feels fresh yet familiar.

The whisky itself hasn’t changed. It’s still smooth, rich, and unmistakably The Macallan but its new look feels forward-thinking, like something designed for the next chapter rather than the last. As Creative Director Jaume Ferras puts it: “The Macallan has never stood still and never will.” It’s a fitting statement for a brand that treats evolution not as a departure, but as a continuation of mastery.

The Macallan is set to host an immersive three-day experience in Dubai from May 18 to May 20 at Rose Bar, Delano Dubai.

Going beyond a traditional tasting, the event invites guests on a curated journey from cask to glass, showcasing the craftsmanship and flavours behind each collection.

Tuesday’s session, open for sign-ups, will run from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM and is complimentary. The experience is complemented by a live DJ, a string quartet, and striking installations by David Carson, along with a dedicated photo moment designed for organic sharing.
