The hype surrounding the release of the new HBO series has reached its boiling point with the pilot, which premiered to critical acclaim allowing fans of the beloved game to exhale knowing they wouldn’t be in for the run of the mill video game adaptation treatment.
While there are a good number of viewers going into this experience blind(not having played the game), there are likely way more viewers marking down every reference and deviation from the source material.
Neil Druckman, game creator and co president of NaughtyDog studio, and director Craig Mazin, discuss everything from how the series came to be all the way to the breakdown of key scenes from the episode.
