The 24th edition of the Dubai Marathon is almost here, taking place at 6:00 a.m. on Sunday, January 12, 2025. Under the patronage of the Dubai Sports Council, the race continues to hold the title as the fastest marathon in the region.

The race will once again feature three categories: 4km, 10km, and the full marathon at 42.195km. Click HERE to register.

The race course will once again take participants through some of Dubai’s most iconic landmarks, including Jumeirah Beach Road, Al Sufouh, and Umm Suqeim Road. The flat, fast routes are designed to give both international and local runners a real shot at breaking personal records or setting new ones. For international participants, the Dubai Marathon is more than just a race—it’s an opportunity to compete alongside the best in the world on one of the world’s most prestigious marathon stages.

“We’ve been thrilled by the excitement and enthusiasm of runners who’ve signed up well in advance,” said Race Director Peter Connerton. “With just about 12 weeks to go, our focus now is on delivering a race that appeals to both elite athletes and amateur competitors. Thanks to our collaboration with the Dubai Sports Council and government agencies such as Dubai RTA and Dubai Police, we’re all set for another unforgettable event.”

For nearly 25 years, the Dubai Marathon has held a special place on the international running calendar, offering a platform for emerging talent to make a mark on the sport. The 2024 edition saw Ethiopian athlete Tigist Ketema make history by setting the fastest-ever women’s debut marathon time of 2:16:07. Just months later, she went on to claim victory at the Berlin Marathon in September. In the men’s race, teenager Addisu Gobena won on his marathon debut with an impressive time of 2:05:01.
