As fighting between rival military factions continues to leave Sudan in crisis, the UAE-based Sudanese-owned brand SN3 has dropped a limited-edition shirt with all proceeds going to charities providing humanitarian relief to Sudanis on the ground affected by the worsening conditions.
The shirt, with an Arabic text logo by Sudanese Calligrapher Dafa’Allah Ali, is inspired by the Birds of Sudan.
“In Khartoum the Cinnamon Weaver soars across the Nile, in Kordofan the Kordofan Sparrow perches itself amongst rooftops, and in Port Sudan the Red Cliff Swallow gazes upon the Red Sea. These birds trace patterns above the diverse landscapes of our land, making their way out and eventually finding their way back,” reads the description.
“These patterns weave a tale Sudanis know all too well: one of leaving and returning, of the in-between state, the feeling of arrival, and ultimately, the feeling of belonging.”
May we find safety on our journeys and find peace in the lands and skies of our home Sudan,” the message from the founders continues.
“All proceeds generated from the pre-order of these shirts will be donated towards vetted charities providing much-needed humanitarian relief to Sudanis on the ground in Sudan affected by the current humanitarian crisis.”
The brand, founded by Ahmed Shareef, Abdallah Abbas and Mahdi Jali, last dropped a collection in December of 2022.
