Following the wide spread of the hit reality tv show “Dubai Bling”, there have been rumblings about a potential Saudi version of the platform coming to fruition. A surplus of wealthy individuals isn’t exclusive to Dubai, so we can definitely imagine the kingdom providing an equally bingeable experience for us to enjoy, or at least consume.
This is not just unfounded speculation though, Arab News reported that a source involved with the production of the Dubai based reality show has claimed a concept for a Saudi version of the program is ready and awaiting approval from relevant authorities.
“Contrary to what people might think, there is actually a lot of excitement in the Kingdom to produce it and showcase the success stories of locals and expats alike in a similar manner,” the Saudi source told Arab News.

“If you think the actors in the UAE version are rich, wait till you see who we might have lined up for ‘Saudi Bling’. We are just waiting for approvals now and of course, like with the Dubai show, we will ensure it does not cross any lines and accurately reflects the lives of the rich and famous in Riyadh.”
While met with mixed reviews, many viewers voiced a distaste for the scripted nature of the show online, connoisseurs of reality television are infatuated with Dubai Bling. Turns out trash TV is an acquired taste, the cast really makes the show, twitter is running amuck with people live tweeting their viewing experience and reactions to the best, or cringiest, moments.
Even if the show isn’t your thing, the accompanying tweets are a comparable source of entertainment.
We’ll be sure to keep you guys updated if there’s any movement on a potential Saudi iteration of the show.
