What looks like something straight out of Blade Runner, NEOM – Saudi Arabia’s futuristic, sustainable (nearly) AED 2 Trillion business and tourism project – has just announced the launch of ‘Topian’, the NEOM Food Company. Topian aims to redefine food production, distribution and consumption by tackling the five main pillars of sustainability: climate proof agriculture; regenerative aquacultures; novelty foods; personalised nutrition; sustainable food supply and ESG.

Helmed by a community of scientists, experts and innovators, Topian represents the future of sustainable food production, aiming to perfect the ‘Art of More with Less’, setting the stage for a sustainable future devoid of environmental fears.

“NEOM is an accelerator of human progress and Topian reflects our dedication to creating a positive, long-lasting transformation to lives in Saudi Arabia and the rest of the world. Topian’s innovative approach will be a key driver in shaping the future landscape of a sustainable and secure food industry,” said Nadhmi Al-Nasr, CEO of NEOM.

“We look forward to working closely with investors, partners, and food industry experts in turning ambitious ideas into reality, supporting economic diversification in the Kingdom and aligned with Saudi Vision 2030.”

Much like watching the early brushstrokes on a canvas, this exciting project has the potential the change the world, something Saudi Arabia is clearly hoping to do. But what we can hypothesise with a hundred percent certainty is that Greta Thunderg is thrilled.
