It has been confirmed that Takeoff, of the Migos, has been shot dead in downtown Houston in an altercation over a dice game. The rap group are more tight knit than most, having grown up together and even all being related to one another. Quavo and Offset, the two other members of the trio, are cousins, and Takeoff is Quavo’s nephew.

The Joe Budden interview

This incident transpired on the red carpet at the 2017 BET Awards, the rap group was sitting down for an interview with hip hop news show “Everyday Struggle”. Joe Budden and co host Akedemics, repeatedly played into a long running joke that Takeoff was left off the Migos hit track “Bad and Boujee”. Takeoff was visibly upset by this, shortly after that Joe Budden stood up and stormed away exclaiming that they should just end the interview. A alteration ensued, and security was needed to break it up. Besides demonstrating the unity of the group, it also thankfully birthed a slew of memes:

Migos performance at 2018 BET Awards

The Migos stunned the crows with flashy performances of their hit songs “Walk it Talk it” and “Stir fry”. The synergy between the three amigos is unmistakable as they had the whole crowd dancing, everything about this performance is iconic including the outfits that went on to be a hot Halloween costume that year.

On a trip to London the Migos participated in the internet famous “Fire In The Booth”, a show where visiting rappers freestyle over a variety of beats. Takeoff really stood out from his group members, the comment section is filled with amazement of the freestyling ability of the rapper.
