Qiddiya, the building-as-we-speak entertainment and tourism megaproject in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, just announced a titanic new motorsports track, complete with rollercoasters, waterparks, and a concert venue under which cars will be able to race. The Qiddiya Investment Company (QIC) has unveiled its plans for a state of the art racetrack within Qiddiya City, which aims to reposition Saudi Arabia in the global motorsport arena.
Planted in the core of Qiddiya City, the adaptable Speed Park Track will seamlessly integrate advanced technology with unparalleled visitor experience. This new gearhead haven is on track to welcome a prestigious lineup of international racing events, cementing its status as a premier destination in the motorsport world.
“The Speed Park Track will be a true embodiment of Qiddiya’s power of play philosophy and will position Qiddiya City as the home of Saudi motorsport and one of the world’s leading motorsport venues,” said the Managing Director of Qiddiya Investment Company, Abdullah Aldawood. “Visitors and spectators will be treated to one of the most unique and immersive race experiences in the world with this pioneering track, designed by race drivers, for race drivers, ready to host some of the world’s biggest motorsport events.”

Crafted by the collaboration of some iconic names in motorsports, including former F1 racer, Austrian’s Alex Wurz and Germany’s Hermann Tilke, the dynamic track is a testament to their passion and expertise. Focusing on maximising excitement and performance, the track boasts 21 exhilarating corners while incorporating Qiddiya City’s unprecedented terrain, providing an elevation gain of over 108 meters per lap.
Proving to be more of an immersive amusement park ecosystem rather than just a racetrack with surrounding activities, the track’s surrounding attractions will include the world’s tallest rollercoaster located at the neighbouring Six Flag’s Qiddiya City.

Multiple studies prove how important social interaction and collective experiences are for the wellbeing of a society, and it should come as no surprise that Disneyland has been known as ‘the happiest place on earth’. But considering how the Qiddiya blueprint looks thus far, one can only imagine Saudi is now gunning for that title.
