One of the biggest jobs in fashion has gone to one of 21st century pop culture’s most enduring stars. Yep, Pharrell Williams, the man behind the Neptunes, “Happy”, and fashin brand Humanrace will be taking over for the iconic late Virgil Abloh as Louis Vuitton’s Men’s Creative Director, the brand announced overnight.
His first show for the brand will be unveiled next June during Men’s Fashion Week in Paris.
This isn’t the first time that Pharrell has teamed with Louis Vuitton, collaborating back in 2004 and 2008.
Pharrell produced sunglasses in 2004, and collaborated on the Blasson jewelry collection in 2008.

“Louis Vuitton is delighted to welcome Pharrell Williams as its new Men’s Creative Director. His first collection for Louis Vuitton will be revealed next June during Men’s Fashion Week in Paris,” read the announcement.
“Pharrell Williams is a visionary whose creative universes expand from music to art, and to fashion – establishing himself as a cultural global icon over the past twenty years. The way in which he breaks boundaries across the various worlds he explores, aligns with Louis Vuitton’s status as a Cultural Maison, reinforcing its values of innovation, pioneer spirit, and entrepreneurship,” the announcement continued.

Louis Vuitton’s Chairman and CEO Pietro Beccari also welcomed Pharrell to the famed fashion house.
“I am glad to welcome Pharrell back home, after our collaborations in 2004 and 2008 for Louis Vuitton, as our new Men’s Creative Director. His creative vision beyond fashion will undoubtedly lead Louis Vuitton towards a new and very exciting chapter.”
