It’s all about making a statement. In February 2023, Louis Vuitton made a statement by appointing singer-producer-designer Pharrell Williams as its new Creative Director of its menswear. And now, Pharrell is using that same big-name star power splash to make a statement about his latest creations, by unveiling basketball great LeBron James as the face of its latest campaign.
It’s true, apparently during the break between the end of the last NBA season and the start of this one, LeBron put purple and gold jersey aside to offer up his rather sizable chops to model Pharrell’s latest LV creations on a billboard in New York.
LeBron is the second ‘face’ of Pharrell’s tenure, following in the footsteps of Rihanna earlier this year.

Although Lebron isn’t known for his sartorial prowess, per se, he’s one the few modern athletes who is recognized on a singular name basis, which, naturally, fits perfectly alongside Pharrell and Rihanna. And having already lent his face to other LVMH brands in the past, such as luxury luggage line, Rimowa, Dior and Tiffany, then perhaps this collaboration was only a matter of time.

Pharrell’s first runway show as the new captain of Louis Vuitton was last summer in June, and his second is expected to take place in early 2024, which could be why he’s now unveiling Lebron as the new face of the upcoming collection.
Consider us excited to see what the former N.E.R.D. frontman and basketball legend cook up in the near future.
