The brand has given its Dubai Mall store a full refresh, which channels resort wear to be part of personal style. The redesigned boutique is bright, clean, and impossible to enter without feeling more relaxed, thanks to the playful touches, sometimes in unexpected places.
Case in point: the ceiling. While most shops settle for lighting fixtures and the occasional hanging display, Orlebar Brown has gone for something slightly more on the nose, installing an entire swimming pool above your head. You certainly can’t expect to see anyone practising their breaststroke in it, but it does feature a bold red-and-white striped inflatable ring that looks perfectly suspended in time, mid-bob.
The boutique doubles as a showcase for the brand’s latest collection, which shows off its talent for designing clothing that works just as well for a day out in the city as it does for lounging by the pool. Look out for Italian linen shirts that drape lightly during the day and sustainable Merino knits for evenings out. Then there are the tailored swim shorts that made the label famous in the first place, along with a selection of trousers, sweats, and other travel-friendly staples.
Since joining Chanel in 2018, Orlebar Brown’s global footprint has expanded, with more than 50 direct stores and distribution in over 250 locations. Dubai, with its perpetual-summer energy, goes beyond another pin on the map, but is a natural extension of the brand’s DNA.
