Following the FIFA Council meeting, a slew of announcements were shared ranging from the monetary investments being made in football development globally, to future tournaments!

Morocco’s football mania bleeds into new year

Perhaps the biggest of these announcements is that Morocco will be hosting the next FIFA Club World Cup.

Differing from the traditional World Cup we’re seeing play out in Qatar right now, this tournament consists of top football clubs from around the world, the tournament is slated to take place from February 1 to 11 in Morocco.

Additionally a expanded 32 team 2025 Club World Cup was announced, FIFA saying in their statement, “For men’s football, an expanded 32-team FIFA Club World Cup™ is set to begin in June 2025 (following the postponement of the original 24-team tournament planned for 2021) and will take place every four years.”

Morocco were undoubtedly the people’s team of the 2022 World Cup, so many are happy to see the country get the much deserved love in the footballing world, they’ve earned it.
