Sid Vicious and Tünay Akdeniz walk into a Turkish coffee shop. A few sewn in plaid patches, hair gel, and bare knuckles later, and out struts a 21st-century warlock of classroom defiance and pure anarchy. Punks and punkettes, let us introduce Les Benjamins latest collection, Eastern Punk.
Constructed under the creative guidance of Bünyamin Adyin, this collection places the wearer on a denim ship held together with safety pins and a flag of studded leather, and thrusts them into the rabbit hole of Turkey’s 1970s punk scene, the sound of your grandmother’s pleas to “turn the music down” fading in the distance as your descent into the underworld of mohawks and rebellion begins.

Titled Eastern Punk, the collection weaves history and rebellion, entwining the intricate tapestry of Turkish culture with the unfiltered essence of punk. It draws inspiration from ornate patterns and age-old tales woven into Turkish heritage, infusing them with the rebellious spirit that defines punk’s core. Nose rings. Black nails. Plaid patterns. Leather.

“Our focus is on creating pieces that can be enjoyed by all genders, and there’s nothing more rewarding than to be able to share our rich underground music community with the world” says Lamia Al-Otaishan Aydin, womenswear design director.
The collection’s visual narrative blends the cut-and-paste aesthetics of punk album covers with the graceful allure of Turkish calligraphy, ancient carpet motifs, and Eastern symbols, resulting in a collection that even Doyle from The Misfits would approve of.
