La Mer, one Dubai’s most popular beach destinations, is currently being demolished. Since opening to the public in 2017 the development has been a popular beach side spot filled to the brim with beloved restaurants, a cinema, and even a water park.

Time Out Dubai reports that the southern area has already been demolished, with more to come in the ensuing days.

Al Shorea, Filli and Starbucks, three spots in the north site, are still open.

Next to the water park, all retail and restaurants inLa Mer Central are fully open.

Some notable restaurants housed in the area include Masti, Zou Zou, Parker’s, and many others. Time Out reports that Masti and other restaurants that are being closed as a result of this redevelopment project will return, though when is unclear.

Even though La Mer has gradually become less of a hotspot as the years have gone on, many residents and families have continued to patronize the establishments sprinkled across the beachfront.

The area will not be left barren of course, while details are not in as of yet the new development will come with a full re brand, so look forward to a fresh beach-side refuge to hang out with friends and family.
