During the Holy Month, family groupchats inevitably strike up the “where are we going for Iftar” conversation. It tends to play out predictably, with suggestions flying and standards rising, so you don’t want to settle for an ordinary night out. JW Marriott Marquis Hotel’s Ramadan offerings answer that very dilemma, presenting a range of dining experiences, from live cooking stations to sit-down dinners.

In the hotel lobby, an immersive installation by Studio Morcos, titled ‘The House of Light’, greets guests on arrival. A monumental sculptural misbah sits at its centre, surrounded by a collection of lanterns. Those gathering to break their fast are invited to pen their wishes and hang them within, giving a personal touch to the shared narrative.

If you’re in the mood for magical open-air dining, Al Qamar Iftar takes place on The Terrace at JW Marriott Marquis beneath the twilight sky, with the crescent moon shining above, a live oud performance adding gentle melodies, and the unmistakable silhouette of the Burj Khalifa in the distance.

The menu, priced at AED 275 per person and running from sunset to 10 pm, caters to a variety of cuisines and cravings. It includes Asian wok stir-fries, Middle Eastern grills, Indian tandoors, and Western classics. Whole lamb ouzi is one of the highlights, along with a shawarma carving stand that serves a tried-and-true favourite. Meanwhile, a dedicated non-alcoholic bar by Aurom offers a selection of crafted beverages that accompany and enhance the overall experience.

Kitchen6, on the other hand, creates a more animated space, centred around live stations and an extensive dessert display, priced at AED 255 per person and open between 6:30 to 11 pm. Meanwhile, Rang Mahal offers a family-style Indian menu for AED 195 per person with a modern spin on traditional flavours from 6 to 11 pm. Each venue offers its own interpretation of an Iftar gathering.
