Justin Timberlake may have just become one of the richest doctors in the world overnight.
The American singer, actor, dancer and producer – who has a worth estimated at US$230 million received a doctorate, along with rapper Missy Elliot for ‘influences in music, and for their enduring global impact’, according to E! News.
Alongside these two new superrich musical doctors was Alex Lacamoire, an American musician known best for his Broadway shows, Lacamoire actually got his education at Berklee College of music.
At the ceremony, JT gave out a few humbling words to the class. “You’re defined by what you define failure as. It’s not a thing if it leads you to your success. It’s all part of the journey,” he said. “I hope that in the years to come, two things will happen: One, I will represent you in the way that you most hope for. And two, I look around and see this graduating class. Meet me at the studio. I want to see y’all!”
Though less of a tear jerker, he took then to Instagram where he said ‘No Dream is too big!!! Keep chasing!!! Trust me… I’m a DOCTOR!!!’, a line which gained him over 1.8 million likes.
Rapper Missy instead posted a video showing off her new doctorate to her 2.8 million fans, telling them all to ‘CREATE YOUR OWN LANE!!!’. At the ceremony, Missy also said to the class that ‘There will be ups and downs—prepare for that,” Elliott said. “As long as you are breathing, it is never too late. Don’t forget that. You have come too far to quit.’
The new doctorate trio join the likes of Bob Dylan, and David Bowie who have also been awarded doctorates, Bowie’s also being from the same college.
