The new lineup of Greca Time watches have been unleashed by Versace, and in line with the fashion company’s affinity towards bright colours and flashy prints, these timepieces do stand out. The Versace logo and La Greca pattern serve to create a psychedelic effect, really popping against an exceptionally vibrant emerald green and deep blue.

The pattern on the dial pays homage to decorative motifs typical of the Magna Graecia region and further references the roots of the brand. Another prominent design element of these watches is the Versace lettering, which can be found both masking the dial and also on the case between 1 and three o’clock. There are a myriad of details on these watches that can’t help catching your eye, from that iconic Medusa head sitting at the 12 o’clock position, to the precise use of the brand lettering (which is even found along the length of the band), to the etching on the back of the case, this is a serious timepiece.

While many might see a definitive division between fashion and luxury watches, the gap here seems to have been bridged, when asked about the difference between the two types of watches Paolo Marai, Versace President Timex Group Luxury Division, stated “We compete in the same arena but with different approaches”, stressing the need to innovate rather than be bound by tradition. Marai also classifies “small details”, as an essential component to the brand’s success, and that is definitely the case with this collection.

Aligned with the clothing and accessories coming out with the Fall-Winter 2022 collections, the colour palette chosen for these Greca Time models features not only the evergreen gold-tone or IP Gun finishes, but also an intense shade of emerald green, blue and deep black.

This lineup of watches hit shelves at Versace Boutiques, authorized retailers, and on the Versace website at the end of October. Be sure to check out the rest of the fashion house’s Fall-Winter collection as the timepieces pair great with many of their other new clothing pieces.

“Collaborations, Exclusivity, Sustainability, and ‘The Unexpected'”, those are the key words Paolo Marai had in mind when asked about the seasons to come from Versace. If the Greca Time line is any indication of what is to come, we can expect more from the Maison that breaks conventions and truly pushes the boundaries of what a fashion watch can be.
