Last week, a video of a fifth-generation, Dubai-based jeweller Rahul Sagar blew up on TikTok and Reels.
What captured over 20 million people’s attention seems to be some shiny new inventory; a product that will be available through their stores and other jewellery outlets across Dubai.
Dubai Gold Notes: What are they?
In a blend of artistry and ingenuity in collaboration with the Dubai Multi Commodities Centre (DMCC), FinMet and Valaurum have unveiled a product that melds tradition with innovation- A lightweight note crafted from one tenth of a gram of pure, 24 karat gold.

Dubbed “The Aurum”, the note displays a panoramic view of Dubai’s skyline, showcasing the world-renowned Burj Khalifa and Burj al Arab. These architectural marvels are etched on one side to symbolize the city’s ascent to the pinnacle of modern luxury.

The reverse side of the note pays homage to the city’s humble beginnings with an image of a noble camel against a backdrop of the sprawling desert— the cradle from which the city emerged.
The note just screams “Dubai”, and is skillfully designed by Ali Al Ali, an award-winning collagraphy expert and student from the esteemed Dubai Design Academy.
How do they make these things?
The Aurum®️ is the brainchild of Valaurum in the US, and the note is really a testament to the company’s revolutionary manufacturing techniques.
Employing cutting-edge nanotechnology, gold is applied at the atomic level, resulting in a three-dimensional structure. This meticulously efficient process has garnered international interest, with several nations even adopting Valaurum’s expertise to produce gold notes recognized as legal tender.

Each note is (obviously) distinguished by a unique serial number, ensuring its authenticity and singularity.
Why make solid gold notes?
The release of the Dubai Gold Note marks an innovative stride in making gold investment accessible.
While the exact pricing has not been announced, the buzz is that The Aurum®️ will be remarkably affordable, offering a slice of Dubai’s grandeur, without the lavish price tag.
The idea is to democratize the ownership of gold; something traditionally seen as a privilege of the affluent.
Whether as an investment or a portable souvenir of Dubai’s spirit, the Aurum®️ gold note is more than just a shiny sheet — it’s a piece of the city’s soul that you can carry with you.
This pioneering product is slated for distribution through a curated selection of jewelry and retail outlets across Dubai, signaling a new era for collectors and investors alike.
