Weighing in at 1,500 lbs, a chunky walrus called Freya is climbing aboard docked boats in Kragerø, Norway to sunbathe which is causing them to sink into the harbour.

NBC News shared a video of Freya giving ships that sinking feeling as she clambers on board to relax for a bit before rolling off back into the water. Harbour officials have resorted to spraying her with a hose to keep her away from the boats.

You’re probably thinking there’s Norway a single walrus could be causing so much mayhem but to quote The Lonely Island, “this ain’t Sea World, this is real as it gets”.

She’s on a boat

While many Norwegian boat owners have stated that they want Freya gone, the marine mammal has attracted an equal number of lovers to combat her haters as people have been rushing to the harbour to see her mischievous antics in person.

Freya’s big click energy

However, the attention from both her fans and haters have become overwhelming and stressful for her.

Freya clearly exudes big click energy as she can’t seem to catch a break from flashing cameras and excited fans who’ve recently spotted her hanging out in Oslo.

People don’t realise that Freya is simply just looking give her flippers a break as she seeks some solo R&R on a boat.

“She needs to relax for up to 20 hours. When she is constantly stressed out by people and their presence, it is not good for her” says walrus expert Rune Aae speaking to Norwegian News Agency NTB.

“She doesn’t get any peace.”

A researcher at the University of South-Eastern Norway, Aae stated that TV news reporters are boxing Freya in the harbour with their boats so she doesn’t swim away as they get their close-up shots.  Going on to suggest that the walrus be cordoned off to keep people away from her.

Perhaps Freya needs to don a baseball cap and some shades like celebrities do to hide when out in public. However, wearing a swimming cap and goggles would probably make her stand out even more.
