Chris Hemsworth’s biggest franchise is back. The aussie superstar has dropped the trailer to Extraction 2, and it’s just as wild as you’d expect, promising a boatload (planeload? helicopterload?) of action and much more from the Summer’s most awaited streaming film.
And yes, I do mean biggest franchise. 100 million people watched the first Extraction, his reunion with Avengers: Infinity War helmers Joe and Anthony Russo, when it dropped in 2020 in its first four weeks–far more than went to go see the last Thor film. So yep, this is a pretty big deal.
The film will also feature a 21-minute one-shot sequence unlike anything we’ve seen in an action film before, and we couldn’t be more excited to see it.

Chris Hemsworth drops Extraction 2 trailer
Here’s the official description of the film from Netflix:
“Chris Hemsworth returns as Tyler Rake in EXTRACTION 2, the sequel to Netflix’s blockbuster action film EXTRACTION. After barely surviving the events of the first movie, Rake is back as the Australian black ops mercenary, tasked with another deadly mission: rescuing the battered family of a ruthless Georgian gangster from the prison where they are being held.
“Hemsworth reunites with director Sam Hargrave, with Joe and Anthony Russo’s AGBO producing and Joe Russo writing. Golshifteh Farahani reprises her role from the first film, with Adam Bessa, Olga Kurylenko, Daniel Bernhardt, and Tinatin Dalakishvili also co-starring.
“This is a sequel to the first film that was based on the graphic novel ‘Ciudad’ by Ande Parks, from a story by Ande Parks, Joe Russo & Anthony Russo, with illustrations by Fernando León González.
