Not only can you fly with Emirates, you can now decorate with Emirates. The UAE airline are hosting an auction where you can purchase parts from an A380 super-jumbo.

When people travel, they often like to buy a keepsake to remember the trip, whether it’s a fridge magnet from that country or another souvenir from a local attraction. Now, you can own a literal piece of the aircraft that provided the transport to that destination.

When and where is the Emirates auction?

Hosted by auctioneer Marc Labarbe, The three day event will be held from October 13-15 in Toulouse, France as well as online here and features 500 parts for sale.

Proceeds from the auction will go to the Airbus Foundation, which provides humanitarian aid around the world. Other proceeds will be donated to AIRitage, an organisation that protects aviation heritage.

Ideas for how to use items

Lack of storage space at home? Buy an overhead baggage box. Always thought those seat lamps in business class would look great on the bedside table? They’re up for grabs too.

Sometimes at home, the rest of the family can’t decide what film to watch and typically there’s only one TV in the living room. If you purchased the the row of economy class seats which come equipped with a TV, you could place this row of seats in the living room in front of the couch so that the screens on the back of the seat are facing you and then three movies could be played simultaneously. No more arguments.

As for what people can do with the access door to the cabin? maybe traditional front doors are a thing of the past and its time to make the home stand out with a unique looking front door.
