Esquire Middle East hosted its second watch collectors’ dinner at Jean-George Dubai on December 7, 2015 to celebrate the launch of the new Big Watch Book.
Held in association with the Rivoli, Si02 and the luxury French fragrance brand Parfums de Marly, 70 handpicked dinner guests were invited to wine and dine at the renowned restaurant, each bringing with them a watch with a personal story behind it. The guest list demonstrated a considerable depth of knowledge of the craft behind watchmaking and the appreciation for well-made timepieces.
After a fun welcoming mingle, where guests were able to test the excellent collection of men’s fragrances from Parfumes de Marly and view some truly immaculate watches from Rivoli including Blancpain, Jacet Droz, Breguet and Glashutte, guests were ushered into the Dining Room for the main event.
The evening featured a fascinating round-table discussion of the best watches of 2015 by Esquire’s timepieces brain trust Sam Truman and Andrew Wingrove and led by Editor-in-Chief Jeremy Lawerence.
Interspersed with a fantastic seven-course tasting menu, various guests were invited on to stage to share the fascinating stories behind their individual timepieces and collections – with two guest even agreeing to the sale of a vintage watch before the desserts had been served.
