Live Nation and The Cherrytree Music Company have announced that British music icon Sting has added a Middle East date for his current My Songs Tour will be performing in Abu Dhabi next year on January 27 at Yas Bay’s Etihad Arena.

Known for his work as a solo act as well as in British rock band The Police, The 17-time Grammy Award winning artist will be playing his most beloved songs written throughout his 50+ year career. Fans can expect to embark upon a musical journey through time as they’ll hear hit singles such as Fields of Gold, Shape of my Heart, and Demolition Man as well as The Police’s hit singles such as Message in a Bottle, Roxanne, and Every Breath You Take.
Sting sending an S.O.S
On tour, Sting will be accompanied by a rock ensemble alongside his son Joe Sumner as a special guest who will appear at all the newly announced dates.
Earlier this year, the British musician played to a sold out crowd at the London Palladium where his performance was hailed “a masterclass” by The Times.
“Sting remains an undeniably skilled performer with a gold-plated back catalogue.”

Last year, the artist released a new album called The Bridge which he says was “written in a year of global pandemic, personal loss, separation, disruption, lockdown and extraordinary social and political turmoil” when speaking to the LA Times.
The current tour is titled My Songs which is the name of his 2019 album as Sting is making up for the the tour’s original shows which were cancelled due to the pandemic and chose not to rename it to The Bridge Tour. However, the artist is performing songs off his latest album as part of the current tour setlist.
