There was a time when if you wanted to seek out fine British tailoring, it was only available on London’s Savile Row – and one of those store on that revered street was Hackett. Thankfully, it is much easier to get top quality British tailoring these days, something Esquire Middle East deemed appropriate to be celebrating by hosting a standout event at Hackett London’s newly opened outpost in Dubai Hills Mall.

Designed to echo the sophistication of Hackett London’s stunning townhouse flagship at 14 Savile Row, the store at Dubai Hills Mall welcomes men who seek British menswear made with quality and heritage. The store offers a range of expertly cut suits, casual weekend wear, accessories, and footwear that are infused with classic British style yet possess a contemporary twist.

An impeccably-suited guestlist turned out in force to experience the evolved aesthetics of the famed British brand, whose success has long been linked to classic British suiting. However, while Hackett’s tailoring selection was very much on display, the crowd were also drawn to its wider selection of more casualwear such as its shirts, knitwear and polos.

While the guests queued up to get some monogram stitching into their newly-purchased shirts, Esquire’s Editor-in-chief, Matthew Priest, welcomed the crowd with a short speech and Q&A with Hackett’s Chief Product Officer, Gianni Colarossi. The conversation focusing around the balance and evolution of a traditional tailoring brand into one that continues to resonate with today’s modern man.

Hackett was originally founded by its namesake Jeremy Hackett, in 1983 on London’s King’s Road in Chelsea. Forty-two years on the company has become a true sartorial success story with around 160 stores globally, and now – in partnership with the Apparel Group – with Dubai’s Mirdif City Centre and Dubai Hills Mall stores being the latest additions to its rejuvenated empire.
