Be sure to look up in in the sky this evening (June 20) at 6:20pm as Fursan Al Emarat, the aerobatics demonstration team of the UAE Air Force will be performing flips, twists, and turns around Dubai’s most iconic locations.
The Al Fursan jets are expected to soar around the Burj Khalifa, Palm Jumeirah, Burj Al Arab, Kite Beach, Dubai Frame as well as the new Museum of the Future, leaving colourful trails of smoke behind.

“Doing what Dubai does best by joining forces with the city’s key partners to bring people together through innovative experiences, one of the world’s most famous cities will take viewers through a spellbinding ride, with the reactions and interactions of the crowd being an essential part to the whole event. Grab your cameras, hold your breath, and get ready to look to the skies for inspiration without limits,” says Dubai Tourism.
When translated into English, Al Fursan means “The Knights” and their proverbial armour is primarily identified by its signature black and gold paint which is to represent the colour of the desert and the wealth of oil that lies beneath it. However, their planes also feature white, red, and green while equipped with generators that produce red, green, white, and black smoke to represent the colours of the UAE flag.

The Al Fursan’s Aermacchi MB339A jets have a maximum speed of 898 kilometres per hour and fly in a formation of seven to represent each of the emirates, however there is a total of 10 aircraft in the squadron.
Fursan Al Emarat typically take to the skies to celebrate major events such as National Day, Commemoration Day and were also seen at the Expo 2020 and Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. As per their Twitter, where more of their aerial performances can be seen, they strive to showcase the integrity of the Air Force.
