On a trip from May 25-28, Barry’s has partnered up with Banyan Tree AlUla to invite you on a wellness retreat- focused on “nourishing the mind, body and soul”.
Having launched in 1998 in Los Angeles, Barry’s is the brand known for popularizing High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) around the world through their cardio and weightlifting workouts. But on this retreat, they want to stress that recovery is just as important as the blood, sweat, tears and dedication you expel within the gym walls.
During the retreat, guests will have the opportunity to participate in four different Barry’s workouts hosted by their two expert instructors, Connor Moodie from Barry’s Dubai and Drey Bezruk from Barry’s Abu Dhabi.
Barry’s has always been results-based, and this exclusive experience in AlUla was created for guests to disconnect from the outside world, and enter one that connects you to yourself.

In the breathtaking backdrop of AlUla, Banyan Tree has created a rejuvenating atmosphere catered specifically to recovery, post the ego death creating drills. In what resembles a bougie-er version of Tatooine, the pop-up’s Fuel Bar will be prepped and ready to swiftly offer guests one of Barry’s ice-cold smoothies.
What more could you possible want after sweating it out in the desert? Personally, I’d say a Diet Coke, but I’m not exactly jacked enough to fit the target audience for Barry’s.
What does sound good to most anyone however, is the 30 minutes of pure bliss at Banyan Tree Spa where the world-class therapists are designed to leave guests feeling recharged, followed by 30 minutes of relaxation.
Banyan Tree has also prepared a range of activities with wellbeing in mind, such as yoga and meditation. Guests can unwind at the tranquil rock pool with the vast desert valley on the horizon after a session, or enjoy the privacy of their own villa pool (nice touch).
Dinner under the stars is also on the agenda, as well as healthy cooking classes that match nutrition with taste- they want you to know, its not all boiled chicken breast and broccoli.
Guests will also have airport transfer services to make things seamless- Something I expect they’ll need after all the back-to-back chilling and exercise.
Would you take your next set in the desert? My guess is even if you don’t beat your PB, this experience will be a training personal best.
