Abu Dhabi, Dubai, and Riyadh, three regional powers all currently competing to set themselves apart as the new entertainment capital of the world? For now, the competition seems quite even, but that may chance as it was just announced that comedy legends Aziz Ansari and Tom Segura will headline the first ever Abu Dhabi Comedy Week, taking place at Etihad Arena – Yas Island May 18 to 26. Set up by Live Nation Middle East – the leading entertainment company in the region, which continuously delivers groundbreaking shows and events across the UAE – this is the first even of its kind, and an additional array of global comedy legends will soon be announced.

Aziz Ansari will play on Saturday, May 18; Tom Segura will play on Saturday, May 25.
Most recently, the Etihad Arena – Yas Island hosted comedian, Russel Peters, and is a favourite of UFC president Dana White, who recently said “If you have never been to a fight in Abu Dhabi, you have to go.” If a comment like that, from the most outspoken sports figure today, doesn’t convince you Yas Island is the place to be, then we don’t know what will.
