- The Galleria Mall, Al Maryah Island Abu Dhabi celebrated its new expansion with a glamourous event
- The private event showcased aspects of the mall’s ambitious new expansion
- The luxury shopping destination will add an additional 250,000sqft of entertainment space and 70 new dining options
Ambition is something that the either the UAE capital or its showpiece shopping destination, The Galleria on Al Maryah Island, has ever lacked.
Last month saw the go-to destination for luxury and fine dining unveil its plans for an exciting new expansion with a show-stopping, multi-faceted event. Dancers performed on escalators, elegant ballerinas pranced around and a stunning violinist made guests wish they’d paid more attention in music class.
With exclusive access to the new site, the gathering of guests were taken on a journey through vast activated spaces and installations including a gallery exhibition with architectural photographs of the mall under construction, and a presentation from the Managing Director of The Galleria. They were then escorted by performers again to a bridge connecting The Galleria and the extension where there was a seated dessert.
As of September 2019, The Galleria will transform into a super-regional mall, creating a dynamic lifestyle hub for the evolving Abu Dhabi community.
The capital’s unrivalled destination already includes 130 of the world’s most acclaimed luxury brands, including Dior, Lacoste and dining destinations including Zuma, Coya Abu Dhabi and Loca. Later this year, however, will see further openings including Chanel, Valentino and Piaget, and an additional 250,000sqft of entertainment space and more than 70 new dining options.
“Our vision has always been to curate a mix of best-in-class venues, fashion, food, home and entertainment,” said Daniel Parry, Managing Director of Gulf Related. “As an Abu Dhabi based developer, we are excited to share our vision with our city and welcome everyone to their new mall.”
