Apple; not just the most valuable company in the world but also a champion of the arts. Or rather, it is now.
Apple has just announced that it is bringing its Balcony Music Sessions to its Dubai Mall flagship store. For those unawares, Sessions sees the tech firm fly in some of the biggest names in music to perform at a special one-off gig.
The first Apple Balcony Music Sessions kicks off this weekend, on Friday the 14th. Some of the artists performing include Mashrou’ Leila, Hana Malhas, Hamza Hawsawi, Ghaliaa and Hamdan Abri.
According to Firas Abou Fakher – he of Mashrou’ Leila fame – the Sessions are sorely needed in this part of the world. “We are excited to see the launch of The Balcony Series this week. Support from major brands is rare in the region and to have a forward-thinking and daring brand like Apple initiate a project like this is strongly needed. We can’t wait to be back in Dubai and see everyone there.”
If you’ve never visited the Apple Store at Dubai Mall, which is the largest mall in the world (by total area) you might not be aware that it has a stunning balcony, with views overlooking the Dubai Fountain.
