Inspired by the Dubai Fitness Challenge campaign, Esquire looked a little closer to home to find inspiration for this year’s award. With the sport of cycling rapidly growing in popularity in the GCC, not only have we witnessed the emergence of races including the Abu Dhabi Tour and Dubai Tour, but also the establishment of an internationally competitive UAE team.
Following its relaunch earlier this year, UAE Team Emirates turned in hugely encouraging performances at both this year’s Tour de France and Vuelta de’Espana. Expect big things in the near future from these shores.
Is there anyone you’d like to thank?
All of the riders of the team. They sacrifice a lot and dedicate so much of their life to ensure that the team continues to get results and learn from its experiences.
What can we expect in 2018?
It will be a very big year for us. Not only will we be competing in the Dubai and Abu Dhabi Tours, but we will also build on the success of our showing at the Tour De France.
